- Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky (1821-1881): His first novel, Humans, was published in 1846. Famous criticV. On this work, Belinski referred to Dostoyevsky as the great writer of the future. However, his later published works did not attract much attention at that time. The author was arrested in 1849 on the grounds that he was a member of the Petrashevsky group opposing LNikola's oppressive regime. While he was about to be shot, his sentence was commuted to exile and compulsory military service. After completing his sentence and returning from Siberia, he started publishing the Vremya magazine in Petersburg. Dostoyevsky, in his work The Other, published in 1846, dealt with the division of personality and the frightening and dangerous world he created with fragmented consciousness.Y.
