Answer: All I can tell you is that it is very good gnocchi and I will buy it again. I have never had the $1 brand so I can't compare them. -

Answer: I am sure you can. However, they can be kept in dry storage for quite some time if I remember correctly. -

Is this really over 17 dollars for one 17 oz pkg of gnocchi?
Answer: Look to the top right of the picture. It says '6 pack'. I purchased it 4 years ago and paid $16.98 for 6 pkgs. You can get other brands in your local supermarkets for a little cheaper. I've tried other brands of potato gnocchi that are just as good: DeCecco, DeLallo, Gia Russa. Mind you, I'm no connoisseur of gnocchi but they are all pretty comparable. -

Does this have to be boiled first or do you just add to sauce?
Answer: You have to boil water and add the pasta. It takes about five minutes for the little pods to float to the top and then you take them out of the water. If you don't overcook them (because they turn to glue), they are delicious. -
Question:
2940 mg of sodium?
Answer: I don't think so. The ingredients did not display a lot of salt content. Very good product.
