Origin8 Chain Tension Idlers Editorial Review
The Origin8 Chain Tension Adjuster is a chain tensioner designed for a 3/8 axle. However, it seems to have several design flaws that make it ineffective for many bike frames. The walls of the adjuster are too narrow to fit over aluminum dropouts and the threads are too short for most dropouts. In addition, if the back of the dropout is curved, the tensioner will not stay in the correct position. These issues make the tensioner highly unlikely to properly tension the axle. On the positive side, some customers have found success with these tensioners on specific bike frames and have found them to be a more affordable alternative to name brand options.
