The Bansbach Heavy Duty Gas Springs are an excellent hydraulic tool and accessory for lifting heavy objects. With a standard model number of H0N0F42-200-463/1000N, the gas spring has a length of 463mm, a stroke of 200mm, and a force of 1000N (225lbs). According to the manufacturer, the gas spring works as a pressurized piston in a cylinder that acts as a spring, pushing from its compressed position to its full extension. However, it does not pull by itself to contract to its shortest length; it needs force to compress it from full extension to a shorter length. The Bansbach Heavy Duty Gas Springs have been used to provide lift assistance to raise a 300 lb. hinged cover by needing less than 40 lbs. of lift to open the hatch. When the cover is in its closed position, the gas spring is compressed by the weight of the hatch cover, with the attachment points mounted in specific locations to achieve only the needed lift assist while providing sufficient weight to keep the lid closed. There is a calculator for determining where the anchor points need to be in your application. In terms of additional requirements, the product can be fitted with ends for bolts, but this has not been confirmed by the manufacturer. The gas spring does not come with hardware, but there are several different fittings available. The item is sold as a single unit.
