It lowers the acidity of water and does not affect the phosphorus level in soil. The use rate for Bloom City pH Down is 1-2ml per gallon, and at that use rate, there is no adverse effect on microbiology. Bloom City pH Down works perfectly for indoor hydroponics and helps in getting the pH into a better range for the plants, resulting in a healthy environment for the plant's growth. It takes 2ml to reduce the pH by 1 which is more than some other brands. Several customers have used this product for their African violets, and it seems to be working. They are growing faster and blooming more. On the downside, some customers have reported receiving the product with a broken cap, which makes storage difficult. Additionally, some users have found that the product is diluted compared to other brands and needs to be used more, which defeats the purpose of the 32oz size.
