Answer: Newer in what sense? If you mean compared to the original model, you'll have to contact Sunblaster to be sure. There may be a newer and improved model, but all the ones I have work similarly. I use 2-18” bars above my EZ Cloner and 3-24” bars in my nursery, and they all work amazing. -

Does the Sun Blaster 904270 have a shade covering the LED?
Answer: Yes, there is a small lip of about 1/2 an inch on each side that serves as a shade. The LED is sunk into a cover.
