  • Question: What kind of steel is the blade made of?

    Answer: The blade is made of 8Cr13MoV steel, known for its toughness and corrosion resistance.
  • Question: Does the knife have assisted opening?

    Answer: Yes, the Cryo features SpeedSafe assisted opening for fast and easy one-handed opening.
  • Question: Can the pocketclip be adjusted?

    Answer: Yes, the Cryo has a user-adjustable, 4-position deep-carry pocketclip for convenient low-in-the-pocket carry.
  • Question: Where is this knife made?

    Answer: These knives are made in China. Is still a great knife. I have the Cryo and the Cryo 2. Feels great in your hand. Feels like a knife should feel.
  • Question: Can this knife be easily closed with one hand?

    Answer: After playing around with the knife more and more it does get easier to close with one hand . I do recamend this knife, it is amazing!
  • Question: Does it have any sort of locking mechanism for safety?

    Answer: There is no additional safety mechanism beyond the frame lock itself. I have never had an issue with the blade unlocking even inadvertently however, even under high pressure. The locking arm extends further behind the blade than many of my other folders and is an extremely safe design.
  • Question: Is this knife stamped China ?

    Answer: Absolutely.
  • Question: Where is it made?

    Answer: It is made in China.
  • Question: Does anyone know what size torx is used to remove the pocket clip? Also, when the knife is closed, the blade rubs on the side opposite the open lock.

    Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. It is normal for the blade to rub a little bit and there will be a wear line over time. If the blade is catching and not opening properly, then you definitely want to send this to Kershaw to have it adjusted.
  • Question: How well does the blade hold an edge? Do you have to sharpen it often?

    Answer: I would add a picture but I can’t. I carry this knife daily and use it. It holds an edge quite well. I may sharpen it once a month, but like I said, I use it for all sorts of things from cutting down cardboard boxes to skinning an animal. When I do sharpen it I use a diamond whetstone sharpener made by Blade Master.
  • Question: Which one out of the 3 is best for EDC?

    Answer: The 1555G10 is my preferred choice of finishes for EDC. The G10 handle (black scales) provide an excellent level of additional grip and wear well. The other two finishes are solid metal on both sides.

The Kershaw Cryo is a solid and affordable folding knife that is made in China. It has a reliable frame lock mechanism and can be opened and closed with one hand after some practice. There is no additional safety mechanism beyond the frame lock. It has a sharp blade that holds its edge pretty well and doesn't need frequent sharpening. It comes in different finishes, and the G10 handle is a preferred choice for EDC as it provides better grip. The knife is compact and has a good feel in the hand, but some users with big hands found it a bit small. Overall, it's a great knife for the price and a popular choice for everyday pocket carry or work.
