Question:
So these sensors are only motion based? Someone can literally smash out a window and climb through unless there is a glass break sensor within 20ft?
Answer: Rather than buy glass break sensors for all of my windows, I have window sensors on all the windows and a motion detection sensor in each room. I have rooms with four and five windows. It saves money and does the same job. -
Question:
If I put it in my car a connect it then drive off and return within range, will it automatically reconnect to the home base?
Answer: You can disconnect and reconnect it by using the keypad. -

Will this work with only a wyze lightbulb? i need it to turn on the light automatically when i open my door. i do not have a base... only a lightbulb
Answer: No. I use sensor light -
Question:
Are these compatible with nest security systems?
Answer: This is a simple magnetic switch that communicates with the Simplisafe base station. Not 100% sure but I suspect it is proprietary to the Simplisafe system. You might want to contact Nest with this question. -
Question:
Can I use my old sensor with new system?
Answer: No, if you buy a 7 piece system now and want to add a couple of pieces in a few years, you couldn't. -
Question:
Does each of 2 door sensors trigger a chime unique to itself so one can tell them apart?
Answer: Different chime sound? Not that I am aware of. I have several of these sensors on doors and windows each with a distinct name so that it notifies my cell phone when activated. I do have them set for activation in different modes. For instance, our front door is activated when on HOME and AWAY and called FR Door. I have a side door I use quite frequently during the day when we are here and it is activated only in AWAY mode and called Side Door. Hope that helps. -

How to Change battery in door sensor?
Answer: The sensor slides onto the base. If I remember correctly, find the side that has the 'button' and slide the sensor in that direction. Once off you will be looking at the battery. Easy to change...under 3 minutes. -

What can I use for my garage door?
Answer: The Simplisafe will work, just remember to shut it off when you pull in and arm it when you are in the house. -
Question:
Do I have to get a security system?
Answer: Yes - this door sensor is designed to work with the Simplisafe home monitoring system. The door sensor would not work without it. Simplisafe is a highly rated install-it-yourself security system and is affordable. I installed it about five years ago and it took roughly 45 minutes to stick two motion detectors, one smoke alarm and six exterior door sensors to my home. Oh, and two keypads to arm and disarm the system. Everything sticks to your wall with double-sided tape and the main base station plugs into an outlet. It has a connection to your home wifi system and also has a built-in cell phone connection in case your wifi goes down due to a power outage. I pay about $16 a month for Simplisafe's alarm monitoring company to call me if my alarm gets tripped. If I don't answer, they call either the local police or fire department depending on what sensor was set off.
