Answer: The paddle switches are not dimmable. You have to install the dimmsble switch -

So to get 3 switches to work you need 2 (3 way switches) and this 4 way switch?
Answer: Correct. A set of three or more switches that turn on/off one set of lights needs (2) three-way switches and the rest are 4-way switches. I had one set of lights controlled by 5 different switch locations so I used (3) of these 4-way switches and (2) 3-way switches. -

Can it be used as a dimmer switch?
Answer: No. It can be paired with a compatible dimmer.
