This advanced sensor plate activates a relay when it comes into contact with rain or muddy snow/hail, allowing you to retract sun awnings or roof windows, or simply receive notifications about rain. One of the standout features of the Capteur de Pluie is its automatically heated sensor surface, which prevents it from icing or frosting over.
Additionally, the waterproof molded electronics ensure durability and longevity, making it suitable for outdoor use. Please note that the Capteur de Pluie reacts to the electrical conductivity of the water, which means that it may not trigger in areas where absolutely undiluted rainwater falls, such as distilled water. However, in most areas, where rainwater contains minimal dirt or contaminants, the sensor functions perfectly. To ensure proper functionality, we recommend installing the sensor in a way that rainwater runs over a small canopy or similar structure before reaching the sensor. Operating at 12V/DC, the Capteur de Pluie has a low power consumption of approximately 8mA without heating and 160mA with heating.
The relay contact allows for a maximum load capacity of 25V/2.5A. Two built-in LEDs indicate the sensor's operation and the activation of the relay. With a compact design measuring approximately 65x45x36mm and an active sensor surface of approximately 29x30mm, the Capteur de Pluie can seamlessly integrate into your rain detection system without taking up much space.
