Answer: Strictly a display item. It's not recommended for sword fighting. You want a full tang sword where the metal from the blade narrows less and is much thicker in the handle. Plus this is not balanced like a real sword. Be safe. -

Does it come with a scabbard?
Answer: No, unfortunately, Glamdring does not come with a scabbard. The scabbard is sold separately. None of the officially licensed swords from United Cutlery are sold with scabbards. -

Is the handle completely round or oval? Also where is the balance point roughly?
Answer: The handle is oval and the balance point is about 2 and a half inches down the blade. -

This is a replica of the Glamdring sword of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and a wall mount. It has a rat tail Construction, meaning the blade comes into the handle and narrows to a thin rod – it's not suitable for sword fighting and is strictly a display item. The handle is oval, and the balance point is roughly 2.5 inches down the blade. There is no scabbard available for the sword, and it's overpriced. However, it is a well-made quality replica that looks and feels great. Some customers have complained about the hangar that comes with it and want to sharpen the blade, although it's not recommended. Overall, it's a must-have for any Lord of the Rings collector.
