It uses magnetic switches that don't make a clicking noise, and it is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11 for use with Philips Device Control Center. However, compatibility with Mac is problematic as the 'SpeechControl' software that you have to download for it to work is no longer Mac compatible, rendering the device unusable for Mac users. Despite being advertised as being "freely configurable," it seems that there are some restrictions associated with user programming of hotkeys for particular applications. Some customers find it frustrating that the foot pedal was only usable with specific software, and that they had to spend some extra money on proprietary software to get it to work. Others have usefully employed software such as JoyToKey to re-map foot pedal hotkeys to different functions.
